Saturday morning

I expected to day to be bright and sunny, and that we would scurry around getting ready for tomorrow's vacation commencement. We'd go to the farmers' market this morning and pick up enough fresh food for today and a muffin for breakfast (How I managed to almost completely empty the frig the day BEFORE our last day is a mystery). Later, there is a meeting to talk PTO with the past pres and we figured to meet at the pool and let our respective children splash and swim. But NOOOOOOO! It is gray and Julia watched a whole movie -- Chicken Little -- while David and I napped (can you call it a nap when you've just woken up?) on the couch. Then, slow showers, Julia dressed herself and did her hair (She used a brush and an elastic to hold some hair back. Not a great job but GREAT initiative!), and we decide to go to Zuzu's Cafe for breakfast before a short visit to our zoo unless the heavens break open.
