Help! Nail biting decision making time!

I just posted a long message on a kitchen design forum that I frequent and also on my home renovation blog which I haven't added anything to in a long, long time. Making the decision alone is really hard for me, but I've worked it over and over and over again. Of course, that doesn't mean it is any good. David would not have liked the open shelving, but it is such an inexpensive alternative to cabinets that if I don't like it in another year or so, I could replace it with closed cabinets.
