Gong Hay Fat Choi

The last two years for Chinese New Year we went to a big party that our local FCC holds. Julia has had a good time at those parties but they were also loud and crowded and Julia was not able to regulate herself during those parties. I decided to take a step back this year. We read two kid books about Chinese New Year, we talked about there is an animal for each year, that she was born during the last year of the dragon and how this new year is the year of the tiger. A few days ago, we started making lanterns to celebrate the new year. Julia made a few with me, and the rest with her therapists. I hung the first ones yesterday and the last three today. Most of them are decorated with animal sticker and glitter, but today, Ellen suggested that she draw the Chinese calendar animals to put on her lanterns.
More and more Julia is working with many colors at the same time. She uses those colors with imagination but they make more and more sense. It is as if she is finding her color feet.

Loving the tiger, dragon and rabbit!

(I think these are the creatures Julia drew: my visual memory is not the best).

And it's great to see the explosion of colour.

Unbelievable! Just love her art work. Love watching from afar.

We'll get back to talking about Abe Martin soon.

We continue to pray for David, his donor, and his new heart. Even Jade remembers when she prays.

Love from OH on this terribly snowy day! We have about 20 inches on the ground.

the fcc banquet was too loud/ too choatic for my daughter,(and hoestely, emm too!) so we went another route that turned out to be a better fit for our entire family.

we clean. we cook. we decorate. and we celebrate w/ a small group of friends at our house. they do crafts, everyone plays games and we have fireworks (throwing caps) at the end of the night. a lot of work. a lot of mess. a lot of fun.
